Trauma Therapy
Green Pastures Healing & Recovery
Trauma changes the way the body, mind, and relationships experience safety. It can leave you feeling stuck in survival mode—hypervigilant, emotionally numb, overwhelmed, disconnected, or constantly on edge. Trauma therapy offers a steady, compassionate space to gently process what happened, restore a sense of safety, and help your nervous system learn that the danger has passed.
You do not have to relive everything to heal. Healing happens through safety, connection, pacing, and honoring your story at a speed that respects your nervous system.
What Is Trauma Therapy?
Trauma therapy is a specialized, trauma-informed approach to healing the emotional, psychological, and physiological impact of distressing or overwhelming experiences. Trauma may come from a single event or a series of relational wounds over time.
Trauma can develop from experiences such as:
-
Childhood emotional neglect or abuse
-
Sexual trauma
-
Betrayal or infidelity
-
Domestic violence
-
Medical trauma
-
Religious or spiritual trauma
-
Sudden loss or grief
-
Accidents or life-threatening events
-
Chronic emotional invalidation or abandonment
Trauma is not defined by how “bad” something looks on the outside. Trauma is defined by how the nervous system experienced threat, helplessness, or overwhelm.
My Clinical Approach
My work in trauma therapy is relational, attachment-based, and nervous-system informed. I integrate warmth, emotional safety, and thoughtful challenge while remaining deeply respectful of your pace and capacity.
I understand trauma responses—such as dissociation, hypervigilance, emotional shutdown, addiction, OCD, anxiety, depression, people-pleasing, and avoidance—not as defects, but as intelligent survival strategies that once kept you safe.
While my personal framework is faith-integrated, I deeply respect and honor the religious or non-religious presentation of every client. Your values, beliefs, and worldview always guide the work we do together. Faith is never imposed and is only integrated when it aligns with your personal goals.
What Trauma Therapy Sessions Look Like
Trauma therapy is gentle, intentional, and paced for safety. Sessions may include:

You are always in control of the pace and depth. You will never be forced to share more than your system is ready for.
